SASSI 4.05 Maintenance Release

This release addresses the following issues in Version 4.04:

• Install updated to recognize Adobe Reader v5 through v7 if they are pre-installed.
• Software now provides Adobe Reader v6 as a default. Adobe Reader v7 not provided as a default due to its incompatibility with Windows 98 and below. You may however use Adobe Reader v7 if your system supports it.
• Century bug with SCANTRON users where a client's birth year was prior to < current year> - 50. The software would see '48 as 2048 and calculate the client's age as -43 and display it as -4 (2 character limit to the age field).

This release addresses the following issues in Version 4.03:

• Several minor cosmetic issues were corrected.
• User-definable fields now carry over to export report. In Data Management->Export, the six user-definable fields used to appear in the resulting export file as Misc_1, Misc_2, etc. even if these fields had been re-labeled using Customize SASSI or by a customized version. The report now shows the user-defined or customized labels.
• You can now copy from the SASSI report onto the Windows clipboard and paste into other documents. See the Adobe Acrobat Reader® documentation for assistance if necessary.
• Replaced the DOS-based SCANTRON interface with a fully Windows-based one. This should alleviate many spurious "scanner not enabled" messages.
• For the adolescent SASSI-A2, the text for a positive "Indication of Emotional Pain" was changed from "Indication of Emotional Pain" to "Yes".
• Problem fixed in navigation keys. Key bindings which are set in the Batch Analysis report (and probably others) were not released when the report windows exited. The key bindings in question are the keys and key combinations such as Q, <ALT>+Q, <CTRL>+C, <ESC>, P, <ALT>+P, and others.
• The error "Unexpected evalover3" was corrected. This error occurred when processing a SCANTRON form on which only the gender was missing.
• Fixed error in SCANTRON versions where missing face valid items may fail to flag a questionnaire as invalid if the gender is also missing.

• Issue where message "no table open in current work area" appeared in certain circumstances after reviewing answers to a questionnaire was fixed. This issue did not affect the accuracy of results.

This release addresses the following issues in Version 4.02:

• For adolescent full test administrations, fixed problem where previous responses to questions B1 through B6 were used as defaults for the next questionnaire.
• Disables "Process SCANTRON Form(s)" feature for non-SCANTRON software types.

This release addresses the following issues in Version 4.01:

• Adolescent SASSI-A2 SCANTRON forms can now be processed.
• Inability to view reports on Windows NT and Windows 2000 systems (evidenced by the "RUN/! command failed" message) corrected.
• Restriction on length of client name and batch (evidenced by the "Run command exceeds 86 characters" message) removed. Client name can use the full 25 characters and batch name can be up to 15 characters.
• Scoring error which could cause ATT, DEF, SCS and COR scale scores to be off by one point was corrected.   More information.

In addition, the following enhancements were made since version 4.01:

• The ability of the SASSI Software to automatically recover from errors was enhanced.
• The descriptive and explanatory text in the SASSI To Go process was enhanced.
• A new "File" menu bar was added to allow the data files to be rebuilt, and a "Help" menu bar was added to access the support documentation.
• The Adobe Acrobat Reader splash screen is disabled.
• Text in restore dialog corrected.

Download now	You can also download the SASSI 4.05 Maintenance Release, save it to your hard drive, and install it at a later time. Some browsers will prompt you to launch the Maintenance Release installation as soon as the download is complete.

The Maintenance Release is 6 MBytes in size. Expect your installation or download time to be one to three minutes for a high-speed (DSL/Cable) Internet connection and up to 30 minutes for a 56K modem connection.

NOTE: If you are upgrading any version prior to SASSI 4.03 you may first need to download the Microsoft Windows Installer Version 2.0 update below.
